Electronics Technician

Electronics Technician

We are seeking a production and lab technician to join our team in the assembly and manufacturing of the electro-optical hardware for our quantum key distribution products.

What you will do:

 We are seeking a production and lab technician to join our team in the assembly and manufacturing of the electro-optical hardware for our quantum key distribution products.

 When you join LuxQuanta, you will:

  • Manufacture and set up electronic cables and connectors, PCBs, power supply circuits, and perform electrical assembly.
  • Assemble mechanical parts for component fixing and product enclosing in rack-mount chassis.
  • Perform functional tests and complete product tests, and electro/optical characterization of components.
  • Lead the lab by managing and classifying inventory of electrical/mechanical/optical components for production and laboratory.
  • Perform 3D design of basic mechanical components, and design simple electronic circuits and PCBs.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Electronics and/or Mechatronics certificate
  • (+1-2 years) experience in electronic assembly: ability to read electrical schematics, solder PCBs, and mount SMD components.
  • Basic mechanical assembly skills: usage of basic tools (drilling, cutting) for mechanical parts.
  • Experience in a laboratory environment: usage of laboratory instrumentation (tester, oscilloscope, etc.) for electrical tests.
  • Experience with 3D design software (AutoCAD, Autodesk, or CAD).

FPGA Engineer

FPGA Engineer

We are looking for an experienced FPGA engineer to assist in modelling, simulation, development, test, and implementation of QKD system.

About LuxQuanta

LuxQuanta is a spin-off from ICFO, the Institute of Photonic Sciences (a world-leading research center on photonics and quantum technologies). LuxQuanta strives to deliver Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) systems and technologies for secure metropolitan communications. More precisely LuxQuanta is developing a continuous variable (CV) QKD system, which builds upon state-of-the-art telecom photonic components and can be seamlessly deployed into existing classical communication channels.

The development of a QKD system requires a highly multidisciplinary R&D team, ranging from experts in photonic communication and integration, to electronic, hardware, and software engineers with a strong background in cryptography and network integration.

  

Key responsibilities:

  • To simulate digital signal processing (DSP) subsystems and RTL design for FPGA implementation.
  • To learn and develop modeling of the photonic components in the QKD system.
  • Collaborate with the other teams at LuxQuanta in a dynamic research and development environment.

 

Requirements

  • Sc. or Ph.D. in Electronic, Telecommunication, or Computer Engineering with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Experience in RTL design using Xilinx tools and boards.
  • Experience in designing test bench using SystemVerilog and Xilinx simulation tools (e.g., ISim).
  • Experience in Linux device drivers and C programming.
  • Familiar with photonic and telecommunication components and devices.
  • Preferably experience in MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Proficiency in English.
