Kick-off of LuxQuanta Webinar Series with a Deep Dive into CV-QKD Deployment

12 / 06 / 2025
May 28, 2025 — LuxQuanta, leading provider of quantum cybersecurity solutions, officially launched its Webinar Series; an educational initiative designed to clarify the concepts behind Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), with a particular emphasis on Continuous-Variable QKD (CV-QKD). Thsi first session gathered more than 100 registered attendees, highlightened the interest of the industry in Quantum Communications.

The inaugural session, titledDeployment of Quantum-Safe Networks in Existing Telco Infrastructures with NOVA LQ®,” was hosted by Víctor Gomis, LuxQuanta’s Director of Business Development. During the live event, Gomis guided participants through the fundamentals of QKD and offered practical insights into deploying quantum-safe communication systems over existing telecom infrastructures.

This first edition marks the beginning of a series aimed at bridging the gap between quantum technologies and real-world implementation, empowering network operators and enterprises to build future-ready, secure networks.

From Fundamentals to Real-World Use Cases

This series is conceived to demystify quantum jargon and help telecom operators, enterprises, and industry professionals make informed decisions about QKD adoption. Many of the terms and concepts in this field can be abstract and intimidating, so we set out to simplify, clarify, and demonstrate their relevance with real examples.

But most importantly, we aim to provide a clear guide to ease your transition to quantum-safe networks.

In this first session, we walked through the basic principles of QKD and the main technology variants available in the market. We then focused on the core differentiator of CV-QKD: its ability to coexist with classical data channels on the same optical fibre, a critical advantage for cost-effective deployment.

Real Deployments, Tangible Results

Beyond theory, the session showcased live deployments and field-tested use cases.

We explored our collaboration with Telefónica, which successfully integrated our quantum signal into a fully populated C-band alongside 100G and 400G classical data transmissions. This deployment, conducted in Telefónica’s production network, was the basis of a peer-reviewed paper presented at OFC 2025.1

We also covered our recent collaboration with Nokia, evolutionQ, and Digital Realty to secure communication between data centres using hollow-core fibre, demonstrating the flexibility and enterprise-readiness of CV-QKD even in ultra-low latency environments.

The Momentum Is Clear

The overwhelming number of attendees for this first webinar, surpassing the 100 registrations,  confirms a clear trend: there is growing industry interest in quantum technologies, particularly in quantum cryptography, as its commercially readiness for protecting sensitive data and critical infrastructure is critical to be prepared for the future, today.
